One of the many features within the Eco Cast system is the "Reorder Actors" feature. By reordering your actors, you or your client can view them in a different order than the default order for an Eco Cast. You can reorder the actors by role (if you have multiple roles in the Eco Cast), by group (if you've assigned groups to the actors in the Eco Cast - For instructions on assigning actors to groups, click here), or by the actors individually.



Open the Eco Cast Reorder Actors Tab


1) Login to your account, go to the "Eco Cast" drop down menu at the top of the page, and select "My Eco Casts." Follow this link for instructions on how to create an Eco Cast.


2) All of your current Eco Cast projects will be listed in the "My Eco Cast" page. Click the title to enter the Eco Cast.



3) Inside the Eco Cast, click the "Reorder Actors" tab.



Note: There are three different types of sorting orders in the Eco Cast that can be edited independently from each other ("Order by Roles", "Order by Groups", and "Order by Actors.") All of them are also included as display options in the final presentation.


How to Reorder Actors in an Eco Cast by Roles


If you have multiple roles in your Eco Cast, you can rearrange the actors in the Eco Cast by the role for which they are assigned.


1) In the "Reorder Actors" tab, the "Order by Roles" section is automatically selected.



2) To reorder the roles and/or the actors, you can either drag and drop them, or use the move buttons. Click a role on the left to see the actors in the role on the right.


To reorder with the move buttons, click on the role/actor (once selected, the role/actor will turn orange), and click the "Move to Top," "Move Up," or "Move Down" buttons.



  • Clicking "Move to Top" will move the selected role/actor to the top of the list.


  • Clicking "Move Up" will move the selected role/actor up one place.


  • Clicking "Move Down" will move the selected role/actor down one place.


  • Clicking "Sort actors alphabetically" will reorder the actors alphabetically by last name. Actors are normally sorted by the order in which they were placed/added into the Eco Cast, so this will categorize them alphabetically.



3) Repeat Step 2 until you have reached your desired order, then click "Save."



Note: Any changes to the order will not be saved unless you click "Save."


How to Reorder Actors in an Eco Cast by Groups


If you have assigned your actors to groups, you can rearrange the actors in the Eco Cast by the group to which they are assigned.


1) In the "Reorder Actors" tab, the "Order by Roles" section is automatically selected. Click the "Order by Groups" text to open that section. 



2) To reorder the groups, you can either drag and drop the groups to reorder them, or use the move buttons. Click a group on the left to see the actors in the group on the right.


To reorder with the move buttons, click on the group (once selected, the group will turn orange), and click the "Move to Top," "Move Up," or "Move Down" buttons. Or, if you want to sort it alphabetically by last name, click the "Sort actors alphabetically" button.



Note: Any changes to the order will not be saved unless you click "Save."


How to Reorder Actors in an Eco Cast by Actors


You can also rearrange your actors in an Eco Cast independent from any roles or groups.


1) In the "Reorder Actors" tab, the "Order by Roles" section is automatically selected. Click on the "Order by Actors" text to open that section.



2) To reorder the actors, you can either drag and drop the names to reorder them, or use the move buttons. To reorder with the move buttons, click the actor's name (once selected, it will turn orange), and click the "Move to Top," "Move Up," or "Move Down" buttons. Or, if you want to sort it alphabetically by last name, click the "Sort actors alphabetically" button.




Note: Any changes to the order will not be saved unless you click "Save".
