In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up 2 Factor Authentication for your Breakdown Express account. This is a necessary security update to our service.
Selecting An Authenticator App
If Two-Factor Authentication is required for your account, you will see a pop-up window when you login to your Breakdown Express account.
Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication in the pop-up window.
You will not be able to close the pop-up window or take any other actions within your account until this is completed. Clicking the Back button will log you out of your account.
If you do not currently have an Authenticator App on your computer or device, you will need to select an Authenticator App and download it.
Click the Authenticator App link, if you would like to learn more.
This will open a list of search results. Download your preferred app from the Google Play, Microsoft or Apple app stores.
Open and login to your chosen Authenticator App. Then select + or Add Account within that App.
The User Interface may appear differently, depending on the App you use, but the basic process should be the same for any Authenticator App.
Scan the QR code or enter the 16-digit key from Breakdown Express into your Authenticator App to set up a new account.
Your Authenticator App may refer to the 16-digit key as the Secret Key.
Enter a name for this account and select Add Account.
Your Authenticator App will then generate a 6-digit code. Enter the 6-digit code provided by your Authenticator App on Breakdown Express, then click Continue.
You will need to enter the 6-digit code quickly, as it will auto refresh to a new code several times a minute.
Once you have entered the 6-digit code, set up will be completed and you will be taken to your Breakdown Express account home page.
Each time that you login to Breakdown Express, going forward, you will need to open your Authenticator App and enter a new 6-digit code to complete your login on Breakdown Express.
RECONNECT TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION
If you wish to reset your Authenticator App or use a different Authenticator App, you can reset Two-Factor Authentication in your Breakdown Express Account Settings.
1. Login to your Breakdown Express account.
If you have lost access to your Authenticator App or are otherwise unable to complete your Breakdown Express login, Contact Us and we will reset your account, so that you will be able to set up Two-Factor Authentication the next time that you login.
2. Select General Preferences from the dropdown menu under your name.
3. Select Reconnect beneath Two-Factor Authentication.
4. A pop-up window will instruct you to Reconnect Authenticator App. Repeat the process from the previous section to connect your preferred Authenticator App.
