You can add a SlateShot to each of your clients' photos. A SlateShot is a quick, seven second video you can add for an Actor that is connected to a photo and can help add personality to a submission.

Adding SlateShots to Clients' Photos

1) To view your clients, click on Manage Clients from the Clients drop down menu.

2) Select the client whose performance media you want to manage by clicking on their name.

Note: If your Staff Permissions enable you to view and manage the rosters of other members of your Agency, you will be able to do so by selecting from the dropdown menu that will Show which roster is currently being displayed, and then clicking Search.

3) In the Manage Photos  tab, click on the photo you want associated with the SlateShot and then click on Add SlateShot.

3) In the next window, click Browse and choose the video to upload from your computer. Once you've made your selection, click Upload.

4) After you've uploaded your video, click on Add SlateShot to Cart to proceed to your cart. From there you can check out your items and complete your purchase. Keep in mind you're allowed five total free SlateShots for all of your clients. Any additional SlateShot after that is $5 USD each.

For guidance on checking out through the cart, see Using the Cart

Managing SlateShots

1) To manage a SlateShot after you've already added it to a photo, go to the Manage Photos tab and click Manage SlateShot in one of your client's photos.

2) In the Manage SlateShot view, you can click Change SlateShot to swap out your current SlateShot, remove the SlateShot, or play it.

Note: Removing a current SlateShot and uploading a new one will count towards your five free SlateShots or will result in a $5 USD charge if the five free have been used up.

SlateShot Tips

1) When shooting a SlateShot on a phone, we recommend holding the phone in landscape (horizontal) mode and placing the Actor in the center of the frame for the best result.

2) If you are encountering difficulties uploading SlateShot(s), here are a few tips that may solve the issue:

  • Be sure that the file extension (.mp4) is in all lower case letters. If they are upper case, it may prevent the upload.

  • Remove any special characters or additional periods in the actual file name. Example: “my.SlateShot.mov” will not work. You would need to remove the period between my and SlateShot. There can be only one period signaling the file extension: .mov

  • You may also want to clear your browser cache and cookies. Sometimes a file from another website or an older version of our website gets saved into your cache and that can cause problems using the site. It’s a good idea to clear the cache and cookies regularly anyway.

Here are instructions on how to clear your Temporary Internet History.

Make sure you clear them from the beginning of time and restart your browser. Then give it a try.

  •  Additionally, an unstable WiFi connection can cause failed uploads. If possible try connecting through an ethernet cable rather than wireless.
